What is Etihad's Race to Fly competition and how does it work?

Etihad's Race to Fly is a year-long competition running from May 26, 2025 to May 25, 2026, where Etihad Guest members compete to fly to all 15 specified destinations (including Algiers, Atlanta, Hong Kong, Prague, and 11 others) in the shortest cumulative time. Winners receive substantial rewards with first place earning 5 million Etihad Guest Miles, second place getting 3 million miles, and third place receiving 1 million miles. To participate, you must be an Etihad Guest member, ensure your membership number is linked to all bookings, and fly on Etihad-operated flights to the required destinations.

How do I join Etihad Guest to participate in the Race to Fly competition?

Joining Etihad Guest is free and takes just minutes. You can register online at etihad.com, through the Etihad Airways mobile app, or even while booking your flight. For the Race to Fly competition specifically, visit etihad.com/race-to-fly to register for the challenge after becoming an Etihad Guest member. Anyone aged two years and above can join, and you'll start earning miles immediately once you verify your email address

Which 15 destinations do I need to visit for Etihad's Race to Fly challenge?

The Race to Fly competition requires flying to or from all 15 of Etihad's new year-round destinations: Algiers (Algeria), Atlanta (USA), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Hanoi (Vietnam), Hong Kong, Krabi (Thailand), Medan (Indonesia), Peshawar (Pakistan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Taipei (Taiwan), Tunis (Tunisia), Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Sochi (Russia), Prague (Czech Republic), and Warsaw (Poland). These destinations span four continents, offering diverse experiences from African markets to European historic cities and Asian tropical paradises.

What benefits do I get as an Etihad Guest member beyond the competition?

Etihad Guest offers immediate benefits including free Chat WiFi on all flights, the ability to earn miles on Etihad and partner flights, and access to five membership tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Emerald). As you progress through tiers by earning Tier Miles, you unlock valuable perks like lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, bonus miles (up to 100% for Platinum members), free seat selection, priority baggage handling, and even Etihad Chauffeur service.
